| Summary: | This thesis is written to discuss the truth of Samuel P. Huntington's thesis
about the interaction civilization between Islam and West. This theorized
interaction between civilization especially in Islam and West is still debated.
However in fact, in last decades it shows that relationship between Islam and
West in conflict scale. By historical approach, this thesis will descript critically
the qualitative data about the root of interaction civilization between Islam and
West with literary study relevan with the mainly subject.
From the thesis was explained can be concluded that root of Islam and West
interaction civilization was caused three main factors. Those are 1) West
civilization hegemonic that will to make a single order of new world and world
society, including Islamic society. 2)the rising Moslem's conciousness on their
religion doctrines to build their own world order, in fact, raises threat to west, and
and 3) cross war memories in both sides continuously negatively was lived than
be a way of view of both sides in looking at world out ot themselves. Surely, the
root of interaction civilization between West and Islam affect to Islamic and
Christian relationship in Indonesia, proved by extended conflict was acted by
Moslem and Christian people in some ares in Indonesia.
