Summary: | The aimed of this research is to constructing local knowledge of Muluy
People in GLPF utilization and to maintain its sustainibility, and also to obtain
information about its continuity to their next generation.
This research was conducted from September - November 2010 in
Kampong Muluy which is located in Gunung Lumut Protected Forest (GLPF),
Paser District, East Kalimantan Province. The data collection method using
technique of participatory observation, interview without structure, Focus Group
Discussion (FGD) and document study. The analyze method in this research is
phenomenology, an approach that placing awareness of human being and its
subjective meaning as a focus to understand social action.
Result of social construction of local knowledge of Muluy People indicate
that shifting cultivation is their self creation product result of three dialectic
process that is externalization, objectivities and internalization which conduct in
their everyday life. Sipunk as output of shifting cultivation indicate that activity do
not threat sustainability of GLPF on the contrary to increase result of fruits crop,
honey and wild animal hunt that exist in those area.
Although have low education level and limited innovation, Muluy People
still can maintain their local knowledge in utilization of GLPF. Muluy People do
not accept opportunity of community empowering in and around forest which is
given by government through PNPM Mandiri Kehutanan because they wish to
arrange utilization pattern of HLGL according to their self desire and chosen to
fight for confession of adat communities existence from Paser District.
