description Bali is one of the provinces with low cases status of Avian Influenza (AI). The highest poultry movement is always present in live bird markets (LBM). Increased risk of transmission of AI in the LBM because of birds from different species, age, and a variety of poultry origin mixed together to be traded. The objectives of this study was to detect the presence of avian influenza virus (VAI) and measure the association of variables in the high-risk poultry markets in Bali on the different season and number of poultry demand, and to analize the differences number of poultry and cages brought to the high-risk poultry market on the different poultry demand. Sampling method used in this study was multistage and stratifies of collecting sample time, with random selection for vendor unit sampling. This study has been conducted in six high risk market in Bali and has been collected sample of 336 vendors and 568 cages during four collecting sample time which is combination of different season and number of poultry demand. The result of this study, 1) there is two positive sample of AI (H5) from six high-risk poultry market selected in Bali. One of positive sample was found in the sampling time of dry season and low number of poultry demand, another positive sample detected on sampling time of dry season and high number of poultry demand, 2) Analysis of association on the vendor stage, there were no variables associated (P>0,05) with the presence of VAI in high-risk poultry market in Bali. For the analysis at the cage level, the cage which is contains of male chicken layer (PJLAY) was considered as a risk factor (P = 0,0083
