Valuation Method, using individual visitor data. The research is located in
Komodo National Park, Kecamatan Komodo, Kabupaten West Manggarai,
Province of East Nusa Tenggara. The objective is to estimate the economic value
of recreational asset of Komodo National Park, as well as identify the Willingness
to Pay (WTP) of visitors.
By applying TCM, it can be estimated recreation demand function of
Komodo National Park, so that the economic value created through consumer
surplus. The tool of analysis used within the frame work of TCM is the count data
regression model, since the dependent variable is a non negative integer or count.
From the demand functions, with linier regression model between the dependent
variable number of day on site and others independent variables that influence it,
the economic value of Komodo National Park based on TCM is in the amount of
Rp3,271,428,571,429,- per year according to the average population data of
visitors in 2000-2010. .
CVM applied in which economic value is obtained by finding the average
WTP using regression analysis tools ordinary least square method. With a model
log linear regression between the dependent variables WTP and others variables
that influence it, then the WTP result is for Rp3.541.284,- per individual on visit.
Based on the calculations, the economic value of Komodo National Park using the
CVM is in the amount of Rp72,985,868,261,- per year according to the average
population data of visitors in 2000-2010. The results are significantly different
which could have been caused of the problem between the two valuation methods.
