Summary: | Measurement of Spatial Resolution of Ultrasonic Tomography has been
done. The objective of this research was to measure the Spatial Resolution of
Ultrasonic Tomography by measuring the line spread function (LSF). A new
ultrasonic Tomography System has been build in the early step to determine the
possibility for further development into the actual facility Ultrasonic Tomography.
This study uses a cylindrical object made of sand and cement with a volume ratio
of 1:3 with a cube inside made of cement, gypsum and sand in the volume ratio of
1:4:2. The diameter of the cylinder is (11.20 0.01) mm, cube length and wide is
(3.80 0.01) mm and (5.80 0.01) mm, respectively. This system uses the data
resolution (Projection x Ray-sum) of 200 x 127 with an increament of projection
angles of 0.90. Images obtained were analyzed using excel program. Moreover,
the MATLAB program R2007B used in the graph fitting process. The results
obtained for spatial resolution measurements manually is 0.489 mm or about 5
pixels and the spatial resolution results in experiments ranged in value of (0.094
0.001) mm until (0.943 0.001) mm or about 1 pixels until 12 pixels.
