| description | This study aims to examine the changing of society in East Java
as the impact of Hizbul Wathan�s establishment. There are
Muhammadiyah and local youth�s aspiration which encourage the
emergence of Hizbul Wathan. The study initiated by doing literature
study and followed by source collection which derived from archive,
newspaper, magazine and eye witness. Interpretation, source criticism
and fact�s interpretation and formation are the next steps. Afterwards,
the result study will be presented as a written form.
The study provide evidence about the formation and activity of
Hizbul Wathan in East Java which contribute the diffusion of Islamic
modernism and dynamics of the map of Islamic development.
Modernism which oftentimes get resistance from society and
traditionalist� doctrin, finally find alternative way to being permeated
into society by scouting movement. Besides strengthening
Muhammadiyah�s diffusion at certain place, the development of
Hizbul Wathan could infiltrating Muhammadiyah�s doctrin into
society instead. Tolerance among difference in society by Hizbul
Wathan�s member facilitate Hizbul Wathan�s establishment in several
places and doing member recruitment.
The relation of Hizbul Wathan in East Java and organization
that formed by traditionalist provides different delineation with the
relation of NU and Muhammadiyah. The relation of Hizbul Wathan
applied equally to another scouting movement with nationalistic
ideology which most of them being categorized into �abangan� society.
The influence of education and movement in Hizbul Wathan sink into
the children�s way of thinking about pure Islam and family
environment. In this development, Hizbul Wathan can get reliance
from parents who become Muhammadiyah�s member or not. |
