Summary: | Marine fisheries subsector which consists of small businesses and households,
is the prime mover of economic society. This is because capital requirements are
relatively modest and management in the management of marine fisheries subsector.
However, it does not mean sea fisheries subsector has no constraints in its
development. One of the biggest obstacles faced by the marine fisheries sub-sector is
the capital and market access. This is where the role of government to help overcome
the constraints of marine fisheries sub-sector by providing policies that benefit marine
fisheries subsector.
Manokwari potential with the natural wealth of the sea. in 2008 the total
production capacity of marine fish in Manokwari District reached 2456.12 tons.
These results have increased from 2007 and 2006, each of which only amounted to
2205.10 tons and 2205.26 tons. However, compared to the results of production since
2001, the results of marine fisheries in Manokwari District tend to decrease.
The purpose of this study include: 1) Determine the policy formulation
process implementation of empowerment of marine fisheries sub-sector, to overcome
the poverty of fishermen in Manokwari District, 2) Knowing the factors or a high
priority in determining implementation of empowerment of sub-sea fishing policy, to
overcome the poverty of fishermen in Manokwari District
