| description | Social capital and innovation information exposure are hypothesized as
main social and causal factors of low adoption level of the corn farmer in East
Lombok Regency. The main objectives of this research are to determine social
capital and innovation information exposure level and to masure its effects upon
the adoption level of corn innovation done by both rice field�s and dry lands
farmers. The mix method with parallel quantitative and qualitative approaches
was applied. The results showed that the effect of those factors the adoption level
among those two group farmers of those areas were still relatively weak. In the
rice field area, the effect of social capital on the adoption level is determined also
by the accessibility and exposure level of innovation information. The adoption
level of those former is higher than the of the latter farmers. Exposure and
promotion of corn innovation organized by private parties will also determine
their adoption level. In the dry land area, the commbination of farmers social
capital and their working motivation will determine their adoption level. The
social capital of dry land farmers is better than the of rice field farmers. With
severe natural limiting factors faced by the dry land farmers will lead to strong
social capital establishing better cooperation networks in the corn innovation. |
