Description
Summary:The objectives of this experiment were to conserved the remaining agricultural crops of sugarcane bagasse, improved digestibility and increased the value of N so that sugarcane bagasse could be used as animal feed. The study was divided into two stages: 1) sample preparation in the form of the addition of urea and calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH 2) on sugarcane bagasse and cured for 21 days, prepared in accordance with a completely randomized design factorial 3 x 3 with the first factor was urea and the second was calcium hydroxide,. 2) test the quality of sugarcane bagasse included proximate analysis, Van Soest fiber analysis and in vitro digestibility test. Data were analysed by using analysis of variance, differences between treatments followed by a futher test Duncans Multiple Range Test will be used. This research was prepared on the level of the urea addition (on dry matter basis) of 0%, 3% and 6% and calcium hydroxide 0%, 3% and 6% on sugarcane bagasse with 3 replications. The addition of urea 0% were R1, 3%, R2, R3 and 6% for calcium hydroxide is 0% C1, C2 3% and 6% for C3. The results showed that variation of chemical composition (P<0.05), but there was no interaction (P>0.05) between urea and calcium hydroxide. The content of neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) and the average dry matter digestibility and organic matter in a row between 24.24 ± 1.20% to 39.86 ± 0.82% and 24.88 ± 0.60% to 40.24 ± 0.92%. It can be concluded that the addition of 3% urea and 6% calcium hydroxide to sugarcane bagasse are most optimal based on crude protein content.
