Description
Summary:Genjah Kemloko Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.cv. Genjah Kemloko) is one of Indonesian local tobacco which cultivated extensively in Temanggung, Central Jaca. The cultivar was reported containing highly nicotine and a specific fragrance. As a primary commodities, the cultivar has highly potential to be developed its productivity and quality. Hence, a genetics studies for identifying the cultivar is needed. A study on chromosome characterization of the cultivar was carried out and the mitotic karyotype results showed that the cultivar has an allotetraploid chromosome number, with formula is 2n=4x=21m+3sm. The karyotype formula of Genjah Kemloko cultivar is different to tobacco cultivated in Peru and Ecuador with formula is 2n=4x=10m+5sm+9st.
