Summary: | Expert system for diagnosis of MERS-CoV refers to an
application that models human abilities in analyzing and
diagnosing Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus
(MERS-CoV). This paper presents an architectural framework of an expert system in medical diagnostics area and describes the design and development of the rule based expert system. The objective of this system development is to assist and enhance the consciousness and understanding of its users including public user, doctors, medical student, and medical assistants about disease diagnosis. This has been done by providing some relevant inputs through a consultation in which the users were obliged to
answer a set of questions. To provide convenience to the users, this system has also been developed as a web-based application enabling the users to retrieve the information from the database exclusively anywhere at anytime. The system integrates a structured knowledge base that contains knowledge about symptoms and their recommendation. The system has been tested with domain dataset, the results of which have been validated by domain experts.
