Summary: |
Abstract. We have developed an optical resonance system for observing the surface
plasmon resonance (SPR). The SPR was successfully generated via a glass prism
coupler in a Kretschmann configuration where the gold (Au) thin f1lm was
thermally evaporated on the prism base. As a light source, a typical He-Ne laser
with wavelength 632.8 nm was used to observe the SPR phenomenon. The angular
scan in the attenuated total reflection (ATR)spectra shows the intensity drop (dip).
That clearly indicates the SPR coupling phenomenon in the interface Au thin film.
Some spectra of various Au thiclr..ness were also shown with identical angular
positions of the dips.
|
