description <p>Preparation of self-cleaning glass based on TiO2 films for photodegradation of palmitic acid has been carried out. TiO2 was deposited on glass surface by using spraying technique. The research was aimed to study the preparation and characterization of TiO2 films as well as the effect of the film thickness and length of UV exposure over the efficiency of photodegradation of palmitic acid. TiO2 films were prepared on glass substrates by depositing the suspension of TiO2 P25 Degussa with various film thicknesses. The films were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Whereas, self-cleaning test was done by evaluating the effect of film thicknesses and the length of UV exposure over the efficiency of palmitic acid photodegradation. The XRD results showed that the resultant films consisted of anatase and rutile crystalline phases. While, the SEM images indicated the presence of porous surface morphology. It is also observed that layer densification occurred as the film thickness increased. The experiment indicated that the thickness of TiO2 layer influenced palmitic acid photodegradation effectiveness. The film with 5.13668 &mu
