Summary: | <p>The causal agent of the purple and yellowing disease symptoms in Indonesia has been identified as Tomato infectious chlorosis virus (TICV) species, Genus Crinivirus, the Family Closteroviridae. The disease was likely to be associated with the existence of high population of the greenhouse-whitefiy (Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood), however, the relationship between the whitefly and the disease on tomato is unknown. This research was purposed to study the virus-insect vector-plant relationship and to design epidemic model of the disease. The methods used in this research were: transmission studies (by mechanical inoculation tests, grafting and whitefly vectors) |
