Today's world faces significant challenges through climate change, scarcity of natural resources and growing energy demand. Buildings are one of the main culprits consuming of the world's energy. Sustaining development of society and quality of the society is challenged if this is not going to change. This research frames an imperative towards low-energy and carbon neutral buildings for the architectural profession and academic environment. Myanmar being a tropical country and richly endowed with natural resources, it is imperative to take favour of the local climatic condition and natural resources in order to develop architectural sustainable building design, which can lead to the development of Myanmar society. It is intended to carry out this research to come up with the sustainable buildings through the practical research on existing residential buildings and materials in Yangon by taking required technical data.</p> |
