Summary: |
The preliminary study of the effect of temperature on the synthesis of biodiesel from Callophylum inophylum l (nyamplung) oil was performed. The objective of the research was to produce biodiesel from Callophylum inophylum l oil catalyzed by H-zeolite and NaOH.
Zeolite was activated by technical sulfuric acid, the acid activated zeolite then was characterized using X-ray diffractometry, spectrophotometry FT-IR and the acidity was determined by a gravimetric method. Esterification was performed using H-zeolite as the catalyzt (5% w/w), the mol ratio between oil and methanol was 1:20. Esterification and transesterification were carried out at various temperatures i.e. : 45, 55, 60 and 65 °
