description
Orthognatic surgery in skeletal ClassIIImalocclusion is mostly treated in Japan, because the malocclusion isa hereditary factor and it is many of these abnormalities found in the country.
The purpose of this study was to compare the changes of soft and hard tissues in skeletal ClassIIImalocclusion among start (before fixed orthodontic treatment), pre orthognathic surgery and remove (post fixed orthodontic and surgical treatment). The study was conducted in eight Japanese patients with symmetrical Class IIImalocclusion in mandible abnormality which have finished the growing process that can be seen from the carpal index. Allof the patients consistedof 6 patients underwent Bilateral SSRO (Saggital Split Ramus Osteotomy) or bilateral lVRO (Inverted Vertical Ramus Osteotomy), 2 patients bilateral SSROand genioplasty. Allpatients were measured cephalometrically in Angle of Convexity, Lower Lip- Eplane, Mandibular Length, SNA,SNB,ANB, overjet and overbite.
Statistical analysis with General Linear Model Repeated Measures showed there was significant difference in soft and hard tissue among start, pre orthognathic surgery and removeat p &lt
