要約:
Alveolar bone resorption that continues after tooth removal has affected thousands of patients, disturbing the stabilization and retention of denture, affecting mastication and aesthetics. Additional tissue or tissue replacement is required to restore complete bone function. A variety of effort is done in order to find covering tissue or replacement for damaged tissue to repair bone damage and increase alveolus volume.
Collagen is natural polymer that has been used as bone substitute on tissue engineering and repair. It is easily degrade and absorbed by body and has good ability to attached on cell. The purpose of this research is to observe the effects of collagen as a bone substitute for the toxicity on fibroblast cells culture. Toxicity test was done on fibroblast cells culture media with MTT Assay. Fibroblast cells count were done using trinocular microscope. All of the data analyzed using anova. The result from counting with Eliza readers: There is significant differences on live fibroblast cells after 24 hours exposure between group of dose.
Conclusion: The effect of collagen as bone substitute material does not causetoxicity on fibroblast cells culture.
