| Summary: | Imam Khomeini was the central figure of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
He became phenomenal because he could integrate holistically the individual
virtue and the social responsibility. One of the interesting things in Imam
Khomeini�s personality was his view about �irf�n or what is known more with
Islamic mysticism. �Irf�n dimension that the writer explores in this paper is the
effort to surmount the belief becoming the foundation of the knowledge and the
action of the charismatic leader.
This study is to analyze about �irf�n in the Ayatollah Imam Khomeini�s
view by using social-historic approach that is to describe the history in the past
and how far the social, religious, cultural, and political dimension at the time that
influenced his thought. The research method used is the library research method,
namely the research of the datum source obtained from the bibliography which
has relation to this research, and to analyze it, the writer uses content analysis
method.
From this research, it can be known that �irf�n constitutes the discipline of
the knowledge explaining the spiritual journey to aim to God through certain
maq�m-maq�m. To penetrate into spiritual journey, there are stages of self
