Description
Summary:The resident majority in Indonesia is muslim, ideally, Islamic banks (sharia) should be more dominant than conventional banking sector, but in fact the market share for Indonesian Muslim resident has not been optimally absorbed by Islamic banks. One of these market shares is Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Network (JPMI=Jaringan Pengusaha Muslim Indonesia). JPMI is one of large network community of Muslim businessman in Indonesia. JPMI has the freedom to determine his choice as to the existence of Islamic banking in Indonesia, both conventional banks and Islamic banks in principle. This condition is the sample that JPMI is kind of floating market which becomes a potential target in the development of sharia banks. Therefore, research on Preferences of the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Network (JPMI) in Islamic banks is very important to know the preferences of JPMI through Islamic banking. In implementative practice, this study is useful to identify preferences of JPMI on Islamic and conventional banks in the theory and science, this research is useful in determining how far the extent of Muslim entrepreneurs can appreciate and assess the existence of the Islamic banking system in the field of research. As the foundation of theory, the research used marketing theory approach that developed by Philippe Kohler theory as the theory proposed by Rafik Isaa Bekun, and there is little mention of the process theory. From the 120 members of JPMI in Indramayu regency, which are made in 53 samples of entrepreneurs were analyzed for the descriptive analysis and logit regression. The results showed that, depending on the characteristics of JPMI in Indramayu generally have secondary education level positions in the organization as active members. They recognize that JPMI have a great influence on business that is based on Islamic ethics. Generally, the kind of cultivated business is still being held by personal business level with the main sources of private capital. Although, the average results of its efforts under the five million rupiahs. Even if they are active in the JPMI organization, there are those who still prefer conventional banks. Then, in general, they're enthusiastic to try Islamic banks of sharia and want the savings and financing services. They are more interested in the system of benefit sharing than the interest system. According to them, the bank interest is forbidden in Islam. Although they are familiar with traditional or conventional banks, but it is still very open to get to the Islamic bank of sharia, sharia law is more profitable for banks, excellent facilities and consistent to the economic value of Islam. The author attempts to analyze that there are three factors that influence the JPMI preferences, preferably in the treatment of Islamic finance which is the religiosity, rationality and intellectuality. But the result, the religiosity factors has the positive influence and significant impact on JPMI preferences at Islamic banking of sharia. This also will improve the positive of respondents to the Islamic banking sector if the Islamic bank activists can improve the socialization for the public either on religion aspect, or intellectuality sector.
