| description | Research on the resistance of women in the novel Entrok is based problem
formulated by (1) gender inequality and their implications in the novel Entrok. (2)
Resistance of women against gender injustice in the novel Entrok. Both
formulations in analyzed using the theory of feminist literary criticism, which
focus on feminine writing (ecriture feminine) was initiated by Helene Cixous in
postmodern feminism perspective. The data was collected through a library
research and using a qualitative approach.
Result showed, women using literary works as a strategic means to achieve
equal rights with men. Through the novel Entrok, she writes the idea of resistance
against gender injustice by voicing a variety of facts experienced by women from
their perspective, such as gender inequalities are manifested in stereotypes,
subordination, marginalization, violence, and workload (burden). Reality called
for women�s oppression through gender inequality include limitations to act,
choos, hold the principle of life is expressed by they self, sexuality and body.
Disclosure of injustice is expected to open awareness of women to take steps to
anticipate and resistance to oppression through concrete actions.
That way, women can become self that is able to voice their will like a
man. Women are the Self which is free, does not belong to men (patriarch), but
her is herself. The resistance of women against gender injustice in the novel
Entrok, done by making the stages of building a foundation of strength resistance.
This stage is the mastery of women to education and economic development in the
public and domestic sector. Power of women in both these areas in turn could
form a large force in order to fight against gender inequality in the form of a
negative mental attitude, marginalization, patriarch culture, sexual violence, and
government policies. |
