| description | Economic growth is an important indicator of the success of regional economic
development. Growth rate in Province of DIY is still low than other provinces in Java. This is
because management of natural resources and humah resources are less, and the development
of infrastructure and facilities are still not optimal. The purpose of this study to determine the
effect labor force, foreign investment, domestic investment, government expenditure, and
tax revenue on economic growth in Province of DIY before and after regional autonomy.
This study used Theory of Solow�s based on Cobb Douglas function of production.
Model is based on research from Kim (1997). Data in this study is realization of GDP, labor
force, foreign and domestic investment, and government expenditure each district in Province
of DIY from 1990-2009. This study using eviews for data processing.
The results showed that the labor force and domestic investment has negative and
significant effect with α = 5% to economic growth in Province of DIY. Government
expenditure, tax revenues, and regional autonomy has positive and significant effect
on economic growth. Foreign investment is not significant on economic growth in Province
of DIY. Results from fixed effects indicate variables that tested the overall has negative
effect on the growth of the Bantul area, Gunung Kidul, Kulonprogo each for -0.055, -0.132, -
0.318. Yogyakarta and Sleman has positive effect each for 0.229132 and 0.0441. |
