Description
Summary:Panglima Besar Soedirman (PB. Soedirman) Reservoir located in District Banjarnegara Central Java Indonesia. The reservoir is a strategic asset that play a role in the provision of water for various needs. Currently the reservoir conditions experiencing problems sedimentation due to the use of land for farming to excess in the cathment area. Efforts to resolve the issue with Sediment Control Building (BPS) has not been able to overcome significant sedimentation because sediment yield increases. The study was conducted to determine the significance of controlling sedimentation by BPS and land use arrangement. Significance of sedimentation control with BPS and land use arrangement simulated through several scenarios taking into account the time factor and the ability realize. Several scenarios are construction of 20 units BPS and land-use arrangement by changing the permanent vegetation cover from the existing condition 11% to 30% for 15 years in 2011 until 2025. Calculation of sedimentation using regression equations and formulas Meyer-Peter and Müller, while erosion is calculated using the USLE equation with the software ARC VIEW GIS and data in the year 2001-2010. require 46% The results showed that the control of sedimentation by land use arrangement gives more significant results than the control using the BPS. Construction of BPS 1-2 units per year, able to reduce sedimentation around 51 thousand m3/year, whereas an increase of permanent vegetation cover about 1.26% per year can reduce the sedimentation 216 thousand m3 per year. Sedimentation control by land use arrangement only permanent vegetation cover of the total catchment area and by using the BPS only requires 27 unit per year.
