description Height measurements through the shadows and reconstruction model building envelopes on a single image is an alternative method in the high data acquisition and three-dimensional building data during these many uses stereo image pairs.The purpose of this study is to assess the accuracy of the measurement height of the building by measuring the length of the shadow and reconstruction of building envelope model on a single Quickbird image of Mega Kuningan area of South Jakarta for military tactical interests, especially in determining the building for helicopters landing (Helicopter Landing Zones/HLZs) on top of buildings (elevated heliport). Height measurements using the shadow length measurement method with an accuracy test using the RMSE (Root Mean Square error). Reconstruction of building envelope model is formed using the SilverEye software by exploiting metadata Rational polynomial Coefficient (RPC). Analysis for military tactical helicopter landing on top of the building utilizing the building envelope model, the type of military helicopter,and building data that include building height data and characteristics of building roofs based on the requirements of technical standards and elevated heliport operations from the Ministry of Transportation (2010) and Aviation Urban Operations (U.S. Army, 2001). The results showed that the building height data can be obtained by measuring the length of the shadow on a single image with a limited loss of accuracy. The accuracy of measurement of building height in the shadows that are not covered building / other object has a better accuracy (RMSE 1.92 m) compared to measurements on the shadows that covered the building / other objects (RMSE 4.99 m). Model building envelopes can be reconstructed based on building height data measurements from a single Quickbird imagery. Analysis the building envelopes model allows visualization of the buildings in determining HLZs. Buildings in the Mega Kuningan area that can serve as HLZs is Bellagio Residence, Oakwood, and JW Marriot.
