Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between mandibular rotation with anterior and posterior facial height changes which were treated with the Begg technique. The study utilized lateral cephalograms taken from 30 female and 5 male subjects, ranging from 17-25 years old with class II malocclusion skeletal type. All subjects were treated by Begg technique preceded by extracting four first premolars. The lateral cephalograms were taken and measured pretreatment and posttreatment. The angular measurement was used to evaluate Y-axis angle and linear measurement to evaluate anterior and posterior facial height. Regresi and Corelation by repeated measures analysis was used to the data analyze. The result of the study indicated that there was positive relationship between mandibular rotation with the anterior facial height changes (p < 0.05) and positive relationship between mandibular rotation with posterior facial height changes (p < 0,05). The conclusions was that each additional of Y-axis angle will be the addition of the anterior and posterior face height.
