of developing an industrial growth pole or not an industrial growth pole. The data used in
this study is a secondary data analysis unit 15 districts in Wonosobo Regency during the
period 2007 to 2009.
Analytical tools used were cluster analysis and logistic regression analysis. Cluster
analysis is used to determine the district as an industrial growth pole based on
comparative advantage and potential. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine
the factors that affect the possibility of development of an industrial growth pole or not an
industrial growth pole.
The results of this study indicate that based on cluster analysis there are five
districts that are designated as industrial growth poles of Wonosobo, Mojotengah, Kertek,
Kalikajar and Sapuran district. The advantages are the five districts on the value of the
density of population, the workforce and the number of industries that are above the
average population and close proximity to the capital city as a center of economic
activity. Based on the logit model as the best model, a variable amount of capital facilities
and the path length ratio of the area proved significant and positive influence on the
possibility of development of industrial growth center. Labor force participation rate and
the proportion of people educated above junior proved significant but negative effect on
the possible development of industrial growth poles. |
