Summary: | The existence of Piru City as the capital of the district affects the physical
development of the city. This study examine the physical development of Piru City
from 1999 until 2010, and examines factors that influence the physical development
of the City of Piru.
This study is a deductive research using qualitative and quantitative methods,
and analytical approach geography / spatial. Quantitative and qualitative research
methods used to assess several variables concerning the physical development of the
city, while the analytical method geography / spatial use in analyzing land use,
development trend, as well as physical development pattern and direction of the City
Piru.
Based on the analysis results found that: (1) Physical development Piru City,
reflected in the change area along the arterial road network which is an axis road trans
spooky, this suggests that the dominant trend is toward East Town Piru, (2) the
development pattern is a linear pattern and the pattern of spread that occurs in the
Western and Eastern parts of Piru City, (3) factors that influence the physical
development of the City of Piru include social demography, geographical conditions,
the existence of networks of transportation, urban facilities, local government policy,
as well as external factors which influence the interaction of high and broad
relationship between the City of Piru with surrounding towns.
