Summary: | Coastal flood is a natural phenomenon occurs in the coastal area of northern Java. A
storm surge, a result from the interaction between the sea surface and the atmosphere is
generally acknowledged as one of the causes of this flood. Moreover, coastal area of Pekalongan,
one of an area that form the coastal area of northern Java is a case of an impacted area by this
flood. Thus, efforts of identification and mapping the impacted area due to the coastal flood is
necessarily to be carried out in order to identify the impacted agriculture and settlement areas, to
measure the suffered loss as well as to map the potentially inundated area. Furthermore, in order
to archive these goals, a method of map calculation and map cross that is correlated to the
economical value of the land as well as the method of iteration have been applied, as
respectively.
Result of this study is the mapped of the inundated areas due to a given sea level rise
scenario, which is formulated due to a data of sea surge occurrences during the last 10 years. The
height of the sea surge is affected many economically valuable areas i.e. fish pond, irrigated
paddy field as well as the built up areas (such as the settlement area). Furthermore, through the
derived calculation result, it is noticed that for the 205,8 ha of fish pond is suffered from
159,546,931.00 IDR of loss. Moreover, pointed out the agriculture land loss, the impacted 205,8
ha of paddy field is noticed to suffered from 117,016,245.00 IDR, while for the 257,97 ha of the
built up area (the settlement area) is experienced 521,794,438,864. 00 IDR.
