Summary:Background: In each posyandu with progress and routine activity there is always the figure which is mover motor of the posyandu both directly and indirectly. The support from PHC and village midwifes is important motivation for the cadres and community. The low of role of health officials and community figure cause the community participation (D/S) in posyandu in Pandeglang Regency was not optimally achieved yet that was average only 58% compared to the target at 80%. Objectives: To knowing the correlation between the role of health officials, community figure to community participation (D/S) and the most dominant factors that influenced the community participation in the activity in posyandu in Pandeglang Regency. Methods: This was analytic study used cross sectional design by quantitative and qualitative approach with in depth interview. The study was performed in posyandu in the work area of Cadasari PHC, Majasari PHC and Labuan PHC. The sample of quantitative study was posyandu with the respondent was the head cadre and for qualitative approach was the cadre. The studied variables was the role of health officials, community figure, community participation (D/S), cadre�s knowledge, cadre�s education background, cadre�s training background, and infrastructure. The instrument of the study was questionnaire. Data was analyzed by univariate analysis, bivariate analysis used Chi Square test, and multivariate analysis used multiple logistic regression. Results: There was significant correlation between the role of Health Officials to the community participation (D/S) (p=0.000< 0.05). There was significant correlation between the role of community figure to the community participation (D/S) (p=0.009< 0.05) and the factor with most dominant influence to the community participation was the role of community figure (p=0.008<0.05). Conclusion: The active role of health officials and community figure was needed to increase the community participation in the activity in posyandu. The factor with most dominant influence to the community participation was the role of community figure. The health officials arrange routine discussion to the community figure to increase the role of community figure.
