Summary: | This research aims to explore the existence of KBIH (Group og Hajj Guidance) in
delivering guidance, recitation, and advice to the pilgrims. Further, it discusses the response
of pilgrims and the effects of hajj construction. KBIH in organizing Hajj in Indonesia is very
difficult to separate its role in guiding the pilgrims. Suggestions and advice of ulama KBIH
was strong in shaping behavior pilgrims in performing the Hajj and respond to the constraints
of hajj.
This research is a field research that focused on the hajj construction of KBIH As-
Shodiqiyyah Semarang. Researchers also saw a similar trend on the large influence of KBIH
to the pilgrims on other KBIH. The data was collected by participant observation and using
descriptive analytical method, researchers observed and directly involved in the guidance of
some rituals and recitations to determine and analyze the delivered material lectures. The data
collection was also conducted by in-depth interviews with some pilgrims who joined in the
KBIH, some board of KBIH, and Chairman of hajj organizers of the Ministry of Religious
affairs in Semarang.
This study shows that the existence of KBIH is not just a government partner in the
organization of Hajj in Indonesia, but also serves as the subject and the character builder and
construction knowledge to the pilgrims. Moreover, Understanding of the pilgrims to the
rituals and their responses to the phenomena of hajj was formed through a process that relies
on a series of hajj guidance and the dynamic interaction between the ulama of KBIH and
pilgrims who also influenced by the values and myths of hajj in the social and cultural
environment.
Researcher found the process of hajj construction in the guidance of KBIH As-
Shodiqiyyah as an inter-related process since the beginning. It begins since the joint of
pilgrims in the guidance with their commonness and the myths of hajj and social values that
have been embedded in society, then follow the guidance and acquire new knowledge that
legitimate by religious texts from qualified guide in knowledge of hajj.
