description The aim of this study was to determine the difference of margin gingival location with and without 37% phosphate acid application on class II cavity resin composite restoration using self adhesive flowable as a intermediate layer to microleakage. In this study used twenty premolar tooth maxillary that are grouped into two groups. Forms of class II cavity box is 3mm bucopalatal length, 1.5mm mesiodistal width, 4mm (group I) oclusogingival height dan 6mm (group II). Each group was divided into two groups A and B. Group I was made cavity on the mesial and distal surface looked like boxes with the gingival wall measured 1 mm on coronal CEJ. Group II was made cavity by gingival wall 1 mm on apical CEJ. Each groups was separated more into 2 less groups, A and B. Group IA and IIA application using self adhesive flowable and without 37% phosphate acid application. Group IB and IIB using self adhesive flowable and with 37% phosphate acid application. Thermocycling temperature of 60°C and 4°C for 1 minute repeated 25 times. All subject were immersed into a 2% methylene blue solution for 24 hour, afterwards centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes. Subject were cut off by the mesio-distal direction, and were observed with the stereo microscope 250 magnification. The microleakage was observed by looking length penetration of 2% methylene blue on the gingival wall restoration as measured from the margin gingival toward the pulp wall. The data obtained were analyzed by two way ANAVA test and LSD test. The results of mean and standard deviation for group IA was 1572,000±493,200, group IB was 1200,000±434,511, group IIA was 2496,000±566,340 and group IIB was 2436,000±574,247. The two way ANAVA test result was significantly influence the margin gingival location to microleakage (p<0,05), and there was no influence between the margin gingival location and with and without 37% phosphate acid application to microleakage (p>0,05). There was no interaction between the margin gingival location with and without 37% phosphate acid application prior to an intermediate layer of self adhesive flowable to microleakage on class II cavity resin composite restoration (p>0,05). In this study, it was concluded that the class II cavity resin composite restoration that microleakage at the margin gingival location in email is lower than the margin gingival location in cementum both with 37% phosphate acid application and without 37% phosphate acid application prior to application self adhesive flowable as a intermediate layer.
