Description
Summary:Orthodontic treatment with Begg technique ussualy caused flaring by using the multiloop arch wire on lower teeth, and there were not happened on arch wire, plain wiremultistrand combination. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of multiloop arch wire and plain wiretriplestrand combination to over jet, over bite and first molar position on class II div 1 maloclusion first stage Begg technique treatment. This study using two groups typodonts on simulation of patients jaw with anterior relation over jet of 7 mm, over bite of 5 mm and class II first molar relation. First typodont used multiloop arch wire ( 014 inch), 6 mm height and 2 mm width. Second typodont used combination of plain wire ( - 016 inch) - triplestrand. ( 015 inch) arch wire. The measurement of 8 sample on maloclution class II div 1 upper and lower teeth replications carried out at initiation and the end every completion of bathing at temperature of 40ºC for three minutes and then bathed in the cold water. Every sample of bathing was repeated for 15 times. Two Ways ANAVA by Repeated Measured Analysis was used to analyze the data. The result of this study are: There were some decreases of the over jet and over bite on typodont I on 15th bathing (p < 0,01). There was also some decreases of the over bite on typodont II greater than typodont I on 15th bathing (p < 0,01). Statistically there was no first molar position on both of typodonts on the upper and lower jaw.
