| Summary: | This study aims to examine the effect of the availability of public information
and monitoring control of the relationship between self-efficacy and escalation of
commitment. Individuals who have high self-efficacy is hypothesized would have a
tendency to escalation of commitment than individuals who have low self-efficacy.
Individuals who have high self-efficacy escalation of commitment will be able to be
reduced by the availability of public information and monitoring control. To test this
done 2x2x2 Between experiments involving 80 college students subject to the Master
of Management Graduate University of Gadjah Mada. The results showed that
individuals with high self-efficacy turned out to have a tendency to escalation of
commitment. The Monitoring Control was able to reduce the escalation commitment
in individuals who have high self-efficacy, but the availability of public information
was not able to reduce the escalation of commitment to individuals with high selfefficacy. |
