description Background: Evaluation of medical education curriculum by the faculties of medicine in the 21st century shows a reduction in time allocated for anatomy learning. Reduction of time allocated for anatomy learning and the limited number of instructors require the development of teaching media that have high mobility as one of solutions. Methods: This study used an experimental pretest-postest with control group design method to measure the difference in the level of anatomical knowledge before and after the anatomy practicum between the two groups of students. Some video on mobile devices as a media guide to the anatomy practicum was given to one group of students as a study treatment. Each student group would be the control and treatment groups alternately in first and second session of the anatomy practicum. Results: The average level of knowledge before practicum for the control group in the first session was 40.83 and in the second session was 63.60, while for the treatment group in the first session was 80.69 and in the second session 90.83. The average level of knowledge after practicum for the control group in the first session was 67.36 and in the second session was 87.78, while for the treatment group in the first session was 97.63 and in the second session was 97.22. Different test results of Mann-Whitney test showed significant differences with Asym.Sig 2-tailed <0.05 at four measurements on the level of anatomical knowledge between the two groups of students. Based on these results, the treatment group had a level of anatomical knowledge significantly better than the control group. Conclusion: The use of video on mobile devices as a media guide to the anatomy practicum creates students level of anatomical knowledge to be better.
