photosynthesis. Plants execute photosynthesis that absorb CO2 and store it as its
biomass. This study aims to analyze the sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2)
Wonosadi Forests and to study the ability of Wonosadi Forest vegetation as CO2
absorber in reducing the greenhouse gas effect.
This study uses a nested plot method/releve methode. Collecting forest
canopy datas with inventorying trees and forest floor vegetation by destructive
sampling. Measurement of carbon stored in forest vegetation by means of
calculating method that is by analyzing CO2 sequestration of the biomass
vegetation using Brown's formula (1997) Y = 42.69-12.8 (D) + 1.242 (D2) � for
5-148 cm dbh. The results obtained in units of ton / ha and then convert the
element carbon (C) to the CO2 that is by multiplying 3,67. Forest floor vegetation
using biomass calculation by the formula Dry of Weight Total (g) = DW (g) =
X Total Wet of Weight (g), and 40% of the biomass is the amount of
carbon (C) are absorbed by vegetation (Hairiah, 2007). The amount of CO2
absorbed is calculated by multiplying carbon weight per unit area by 3,67.
Based on the research results are known, the amount of CO2 sequestration
Wonosadi Forests is 12.965,193 tons year with average of CO2 sequestration is
equal to 524,179 tons/ha/year. CO2 sequestration by trees as much as sebesar
215,172 tons/ ha/year, CO2 sequestration by poles as much as 165,223 tons/
ha/year, CO2 sequestration by sapling as much as 138,212 tons/ha/year and CO2
sequestration of forest floor vegetation as much as 5.572 ton/ha/year. Species that
have the biggest potential for CO2 sequestration is Munggur tree (Samanea
saman) as much as 15,564 tons yearCO2 with average of CO2 sequestration as
much as 1,729 tons/ha/year. While the species with the smallest sequestration is
Serut tree (Strebius asper) that as much as 0,030 ton year CO2 with average of
CO2 sequestration is equal to 0,015tons/ha/year. |
