The method used in the research are visual interpretation of Quickbird imagery to
extract building density and spatial analysis based on geographical information system.
Mapping accuracy rate is calculated using the formula mapping accuracy test.
Characteristics of building density is obtained by analysing building density map and
road map parameter and distribution of educational facilities.
The results show that Quickbird imagery is able to extract density of the building
with the mapping accuracy of 91.43 percent. From the mapping results can be obtained
three density classes, namely low (28.06%), moderate (41.38%) and high (30.57%).
When viewed on the level of accessibility, the availability of transport infrastructures
(roads) affect the density of settlements and the building area. Based on the distance of
settlements to the main road it is encountered that settlements located 0-1000 m have the
highest average density, settlement density declines in areas located more than 1000 m
from the main road. As for the existence of infrastructure, education has no effect on the
density variation of the building, because the farther the distance from the center of
educational activity, the more extensive the density of settlement. |
