| Summary: | Self-concept is the view of ourselves about our own natural self. Mental self-portrait has three dimensions, ie knowledge of self, expectations of self and judgments about ourselves. Self-concept may arise due to several factors, among others, because of the influence of the immediate family, neighborhood, peers, and social groups. How does a given environment will affect the individual in determining his attitude. If the environment is a negative effect, then the concept of self that is formed will be negative, if the environment has a positive effect on individuals, then the individual will have a positive self-concept. Titles in this study is "Self Concept and Self-Expression tattooed man". Research on the tattooed area Wijilan held in Yogyakarta. And the respondents in this study were tattooed people who live and reside in Wijilan. Research methods in this study is a qualitative descriptive phenomenological paradigm-analytical to the phenomenon of people with tattoos and self expression tattooed people who use it. The results of this study is the third of the respondents in this study, have different experiences in the community, after they put on a tattoo. Allegations and the negative image given to their community, which ultimately makes them rise from adversity, and their strong resolve to prove the allegations of the society, which seemed to not give them the opportunity to demonstrate that they tattooed but they remain a good figure, understand the rules, and they were able to achieve my goals and hope they become a great person. They just want to show, that tattoo is one way, which they did in expressing themselves and their feelings. With the encouragement of loved ones, who always supported and believed that they were able to achieve what they dream, it has become one of the drugs and encouragement in their lives, who make themselves have a high appreciation of themselves, confident and always positive thinking, with what they work and what they will achieve. Wearing a tattoo is not an obstacle to their success.
