description | This study aims to analyze the economic performance of East Java
Province, the economic performance of counties/cities in East Java, the economic
sector of the potential that exists in East Java as well as the development disparity
between regions in East Java province. Analysis tool used is the index of
economic performance, location quotient, inequalities development index (Index
Williamson), and the Klassen Typology.
The results obtained are based on the economic performance index of 38
districts/cities in the Province of East Java region 15 with an average index of
economic performance above the provincial average and 2 areas with the
economic performance index equal to the provincial average and 21 areas with the
index economic performance under the provincial average, although the
difference is not far away. Based on the analysis of potential economic sectors by
using the Location Quotient is known that during the period 2002-2009 there were
three economic sectors that become the basis or potential economic sectors
namely agriculture, livestock and fisheries sector, electricity, gas and water
supply, and the sectors of trade, hotels , and restaurants. The third sector during
the observation period continued to grow into one of the bases of economic
sectors for the Province of East Java. During the 2002-2009 period of
development disparities between regions in East Java, but the numbers tend to
decrease inequality Williamson indicated by the index is above 1 (one). This
suggests that the development is happening in East Java runs very lame. |
