| Summary: | The purpose of this research were to find out (1) the influence of extension
worker towards innovation adoption process of rice farming in Montasik Sub-district,
(2) the influence of local wisdom towards innovation adoption process of rice
farming in Montasik Sub-district, (3) the influences of economic and social factors of
farmer in the innovation adoption of rice farming in Montasik Sub-district, and (4) to
study the activity synergies between extension worker and local wisdom approaches
towards innovation adoption of rice farming in Montasik Sub-district. The basic
method used in this research was descriptive analysis method by using quantitative
approaches supported by qualitative aspects. The site selection of the research was
done in Montasik Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency. The sampling of respondents
used simple random sampling method in which the number of respondents were 120
out of 1057 farmers. The statistical analysis in this research was multiple linear
regression test by using backward method. The result showed that extension worker,
motivation and attitude affected the innovation adoption of rice farming. Factors such
as local wisdom, participation, land area, and education did not affect toward the
innovation adoption of rice farming. Agricultural extension activities by using local
wisdom approaches could work together with innovation adoption of rice farming,
which mean that the extension workers and society leader can work well together in
rice planting schedule and preservation of agricultural environment in Montasik Subdistrict.
