Description
Summary:The use of local wood for the furniture industry or mebelair greatly increased, in general, a local wood that still has some weaknesses and development of high decrease, cracks until the split, curved, and the growth of mold. Of course this will greatly affect the quality of the product will even be harmful to consumers and producers in turn will lose money. One of the measures to reduce the weaknesses of the local nature of the wood is drying with oven, due to drying at a certain temperature in the cells of the wood will dry and it does not work anymore and shapes of wood will be stable, will further improve the quality of production mebelair. This study uses the local boards which are: hibiscustillacues (waru) BJ 0.54, adenanthere-micro sperma (cegawe) BJ 0.8 and Albizia falcate - falcate Becker (sengon) BJ 0.33, aims to get through the dry wood drying system of greenhouse until the wood moisture content reaches the value of the moisture content of wood furniture 12% or interval 10-13%. The method used is by drying using a dryer greenhouse, measuring 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 meters (length, width and height), roof made of clear plastic glass and corrugated iron, walls made of tin plate, frame mild steel construction is used, the heat source is the energy of sunlight. For wood drying hibiscus. board of size 3 x 20 x 200 cm high 10 boards composed of 30 pieces, 3 cm thick padding for 4 days and examined the water content of wood per hour 0.8.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00. Similarly do for wood adenanthere-micro sperma and Albizia falcate - falcate Becker. The results showed that the temperature in the dryer range 24-43°C and air humidity outside the range 65-90% wood sengon (BJ 0.33) was achieved for furniture wood moisture content of about 12% faster (on the second day) followed by hibiscus (BJ O, 54) third and final day cegawe (BJ 0.8) fourth day despite the higher initial water content (22-25%) compared to the second timber (14.3 - 20%) others.
