more important when an organization tries to relate information technology and
business in a dynamic business development as well as in a developing
technology. Business and information technology strategic alignment can create a
strategically viable advantage that will provide organizations with increased
visibility, efficiency, and profitability to operate in today�s ever changing markets.
It further allows an organization to respond more quickly to dynamic and
changing business environments, thereby using IT to achieve its set goals and
objectives.
The role of IT in BPT of Sragen Regency becomes very important part to
encourage the existence of excellent public services and bureaucracy reformation
in Sragen Regency, but there are still some constraints in its implementation. That
situation shows that collaboration of business and IT has not been harmonious.
The implementation of IT that is not suitable with the organization�s business
strategy can cause organization�s purposes are not optimally achieved. The
organization which is able to identify the maturity level of business and
information technology strategic alignment can find out what have been done and
make these as reference to improve the synergy between business-IT element and
so the organization�s purpose can be achieved.
This research discusses the approach for assessing the maturity level of
business and information technology strategic alignment so it can be found its
maturity level position. The assessment method used is Luftman method
(Luftman�s strategic alignment maturity assessment method). This research also
identifies the factors that influence the achievement of maturity level. Using this
method, it is expected that the existing gap can be found so the recommendations,
in the form of better solutions, can be arranged to achieve a better harmony.
