Summary: | This study aims to analyze the competitive strategy carried out by PT.
Pertamina Tongkang in dealing with competition in the shipping services industry
in the oil and gas sector.
Qualitative methods of analysis used in this study are by means of PEST
analysis, Porter�s Five Forces, and Functional analysis used to identify and
evaluate opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses of PT. Pertamina
Tongkang, and the SWOT matrix analysis tool that is used to determine an
alternative strategy to compete for PT. Pertamina Tongkang.
From the analysis, the conclusion drawn proposes that alternative
competitive strategies that can be used by PT. Pertamina Tongkang are as follows:
(1) SO strategy is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation among companies
within Pertamina Group to increase its market share in vessels rental services to
support offshore activities of Pertamina Group
