Summary: | Palm oil as a producer of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (CPKO) is
one of the most favorite plant who becomes the source of non-oil foreign exchange
earner for Indonesia. The bright prospects of palm oil commodities in the world�s
vegetable oil trade have encouraged various parties, both the Indonesian government
and the private sector to enhance the growth of plantation area in Indonesia.
The high demand in global markets and significant profit margins, make the
competition in the upstream industry increasingly tight oil palm plantations. Our
government restricts the export of CPO by applying rules and regulations which aim
to improve the capabilities and value-added production in the country, moving
downstream palm oil industry. Other side, this competition becomes more intense
impact on the downstream palm oil industry also.

The results suggest a strategy of PT. Sinarmas Agribusiness & Food has been
consistently applied on price leadership strategy, but companies need to consider
some of the core aspects of the increased ability to manage the upstream, downstream
industries and strengthening the company to increase their competitive advantage in
the future years coming.
