| description | This review is about the effect of water stress towards yield production of aerobic rice. The objectives for this review are: a) to review whether water stress can effect yield production of aerobic rice, b) to summarize the relationship between water stress and yield production of aerobic rice and c) to propose the way to overcome the water stress in aerobic rice cultivation. Aerobic rice is a system for producing high yields for rice with less water than is used in conventional lowland production. The production of yield for aerobic rice doubled from upland rice but still lower than lowland rice. But, the yield production will be declined in water stress condition. The limitation of water cause the plant height, number of panicle and number of spikelet become decrease. This reduction can give effect to the number of grain production. From this review, we can conclude that aerobic rice with high water stress give effect to yield declining. Water stress effect the production of yield decreased from time to time if prolonged. This yield declining can be avoided by new technology and new management strategies like irrigation and tillage practices. So, it proved that water stress give negative effect to the yield production of aerobic rice. |
