Description
Summary:This study examines Plato’s use of paradigms in the Statesman, focusing on the paradigm of weaving. The basic thesis of the study is that Plato’s use of paradigms to assist with the process of division was motivated by an epistemological limitation indicated by the aporetic conclusion of the Theaetetus and that paradigms are used to address this limitation due their greater pre-dialectical doxastic alacrity.
