Summary:Established in June 2017, VALIDATE is an international network of researchers working to accelerate vaccine development for four neglected intracellular pathogens that cause significant mortality and morbidity globally: Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Leishmania spp., Burkholderia pseudomallei and Mycobacterium leprae. In 5 years, VALIDATE has grown to have more than 550 members from over 250 institutes across 72 countries and has had several successes and important outputs. This chapter discusses VALIDATE’s origins, achievements and future direction.
