Summary: | <p>Of the many groups of problems falling under the genral heading "intentionality" three will be discussed in this thesis - firstly, that nest of problems surrounding the various criteria for intentional sentences, and with the thesis that interntionality is the mark of psychological sentences; secondly, those views and queries surrounding the notion of an intentional object, and particularly the problems concerning the nature and definition of such objects; and thirdly the more traditional area, viz. problems concerning the account which is to be given of the relation between a mental event or activity and its object.</p>
