For example, high-resolution MR imaging can be used for "in vivo histology", techniques such as voxel-based morphometry can be used to localise structural variation across populations, diffusion imaging provides information on system-level anatomical connectivity. fMRI studies are increasingly making use of the information provided by such structural mapping techniques in order to discover the anatomical substrate for observed functional effects. © 2009 Humana Press. |
