Summary: | This keynote offers a novel set of ideas of organizational change, as a critical counterpoint to standard strategy concepts. It aims to provide fresh thinking for making sense of and living with the changeful nature of the research library, as well as for contributing to its transformation.
The ideas are based on Stephen’s leadership experience of the practice of strategy formation and implementation in the academy over thirty-five years, supplemented by doctoral and post-doctoral research in organization and management. The presentation draws on Stephen’s recent work, which has included papers on demons, difference, social capital, practical wisdom and community engagement.
