Variable temperature 1H and 13C{1H} NMR studies have shown that the complex 2 undergoes a novel ligand commutation involving exchange between metal-coordinated and uncoordinated sulphur atoms of the macrocycle. In contrast, 1 and 3 exhibit temperature-invariant NMR spectra. © 1988.
